Proofing Information

When printing a custom book, each client and each project will need different proofs and we guide you through what type of proofs are needed. The proofing methods available are listed below.

Epson color proofs:

the most commonly used way of proofing images for color and will give you a good representation of how your images will look printed.

Press proofs:

a sheet of images or pages that are printed on our offset printing machines and on the paper to be used in your book. This will give you a perfect proof of how your images will look in the final version.

Hard copy Bluelines:

a low/medium resolution of your whole book that is used to check for pagination, layout and final text checking. (sometimes called plotters or improof)

Electric Bluelines:

same as above but only delivered to you in electronic format (PDF).

F&Gs:

folded and gathered sheet that are sent after the sheets have been printed. This is a final check before your project is sent to the bindery.

Blank Dummies:

prototypes of your project made with blank pages to show you how your book will look and feel.
